Wrong yarn and wrong needles = extra warm Mitten

My Chevron scarf is almost finished. Right now she is very bobbely and weird looking so she will absolutely need some serious blocking before she's ready to make her entrance.
I just love the mix of colors. I have been using Colinette's Jitterbug in the shades Bright Charchoal and Copperbeech. One skein of each color.

I have been starting up a new project. The Keefely Mittens from the book Handknit Holidays. I'm using a yarn that is way too thick for this pattern but when I tried knitting with way too small needles (2 mm) I got the right gauge. This combination; bylky yarn with small needles results in a very compact and thick mitten. Perfect for the swedish winter....
