Mad Color Weave

This pattern is fun to knit. The slip-stitch-pattern is great but I'm not sure of my choice of yarn however. I knit in Lorna Laces Shepherd Sock color Mixed Berries. The colors are great in pink/purple/blue/red. But for some reason my sock is mainly pink/purple in the front side and blue/red in the back side. I thought the colors would mix up a little bit more, but no. Another issue with this pattern - yarn combination is that the pattern tend to disappear a little in this yarn in strong colors with hight contrast. But I will proceed anyway.

When I found the Wollmeise yarnshop in Germany I instantly decided to knit the Möbius Wrap as my first project. The merino yarn is perfect for it. I choosed the colors Granatapfel, Wilder Mohn and Dornröschen. They are absolutely fabulous!
It's not easy to knit a Moebius/Möbius Wrap in several colors. I have more than once tangeled up the whole thing because it's difficult to keep all strands of yarn at the right place when the work is twisting itself during knitting.

My son - a great knitter!

Look what my 14 years old son knitted in schools textile crafts class! A mouse so cute and absolutely perfect!
He told me that he had to try knitting in school and I asked him what he intended to knit. "A mouse", he said, but he wouldn't develop it further.
Then a couple of weeks later I asked how the knitting went and he sigh and said that the mouse was finished but the result wasn't great. "Well can't you show it to me anyway?" I asked him. I was really curios of the result. And he went to his jacket and pull up this gorgeous creature! I just love it!
Well, the knitting-gene must be running in the family, I thought with a smile on my lips and a warmth in my heart.

"What are you going to knit next?" I asked him.
"What?! next?" he said and looked at me as if I was the craziest mum in the whole country of Sweden. "I'm certainly not gonna knit again. It's boring and tricky"
Well, you have to be greatful and happy for the small things in life. At least I know that he has the talent. And maybe one day he'll pick up the needles again. ( but to be frankly, I don't think he will...)

Lady Eleanor is growing

See my latest Eleanor in the garden. No, it's not the same as in a previous entry. This one is in another colour and it suits me really better. The bluish/purple one is now unraveled curly yarn in three balls waiting to be something else.
I have said it before so therefore I say it again: I just love to knit in Noros Silk Garden.
The constant color switches and variaty in thickness makes every stitch and row a surprise.
I just need to get a few hanks more because I ran out now. Or, the truth is that I only could afford five hanks when I bought it. You know, it's important to spread the costs...

Kolla in min senaste Lady Eleanor på besök i trädgården.

The winter is soon here so it's best to be prepared!

This week I have been home ill for a couple of days. Sick to my stomach but I had the time to finish up a few items. Among them this pair of lace mitts. The yarn is Aracunia Alpacka in a bluish/grey shade. Fitts perfect to my navy jacket.

Last Minute Knitted Gifts

I bought A book a few weeks ago and it finally arrived yesterday by mail. Last Minute Knitted Gifts. I bought it mainly to get the pattern to the Chevron Scarf. I fell in love with it when I saw dogged's version. Isn't it lovely?

Last Minute Knitted Gifts heter den.

There are a few items in this book I want to knit sometimes. What about these lovely mitts for him and her?

Gift from my friend

I just must show my lovely green-blue merino/silk yarn from my friend Eva. She bought theese three skeins for my birthday when she was in New York on vacation and I love her for that! The yarn is just lovely and the only problem with it is that I can't decide what to make of it. The pattern must be as great as the yarn itself. I think Backyard Leaves would look great in this yarn. What do you think?

Lady Eleanor

My Lady is in progress. It's just wonderful to see her grow and see the changes in colors. I will never get bored with her!

Cabled pullover

This is the beginning of my newest project. A cabled pullover from Vogue Knitting Winter 2006/07.
The yarn is Eskimo from Garnstudio. A very, very bulky yarn and I just love the shade. Sorry for the really bad picture.
I took it with my cellphone... :-(

Secrets

What's this? Any guess? Well I can't tell you yet. Ha!

Knitted Bodice finished!

Finally, after months of struggeling with different yarns and sizes, I can now proudly wear my Knitted Bodice! I know, it's not as stunning as the original but I have to be honest, I can't defend a purchase of 9 skeins of pure silk plus frieght cost oversees from the U.S. to Sweden. I just can't. Allthough Tilli Tomas yarn "Rock Star" is to die for! However, the Silke Alpacka from Garnstudio is quite OK. I fell in love with the deep purple shade and I find the bodice quite wearable. Perhaps I will elongate the arms, they are a couple of centimeters too short.

Woolheaven

After some thinking I decided to move from my previous blog so this is my first entry.

I bought some yarn today from Rohrspatz und Wollmeise. They have the most beautiful handpainted wool in even more beautiful colors. The names are totally delicious. What about Garnatapfel, Dornröschen, Wilder Mohn, Rhabarber and Campari Orange? Yummy!
