Chrismas gifts to my daughter

I started to knit a couple of Chrsitmas gifts to my daughter. She moved in the end of this summer 930 km to Luleå, a town in the northen of Sweden. She has been admitted to the national basketball high school there. Luleå is located just 130 km south of the Arctic Circle so you can imagine that it's dark and very cold there in the winter. What would be greater than another pair of mittens and a cosy scarf to wrap around her neck when it's cold outside.
For both I choosed Garnstudios yarn Eskimo (suitable name by the way. There are no Eskimoes in Luleå but almost... ;-). The soft winter white color will be perfect to her chocolate brown jacket.

För ett par dagar sedan började jag med ett par julklappar till min dotter. Hon flyttade 93 mil till Luleå i slutet av sommaren när hon blev antagen till Riksbasketgymnasiet där. Hon har börjat vänja sig vid mörkret men fryser ofta, så vad skulle vara bättre ännu ett par vantar och en gosig halsduk att vira runt halsen när det är kallt ute.
För båda valde jag Garstudios garn Eskimo (passande namn förresten. Inte så många Eskimåer i Luleå kanske men nästan... ;-). Den mjuka vintervita färgen kommer passa fint till hennes chokladbruna jacka.

The design of the mittens is a combo of a pattern I found at Garnstudio and the nice garter rib in the Tangled Yoke Cardigan. Very easy and fast to knit!

Designen är en kombination av ett mönster jag hittade hos Garnstudio och den fina "garter rib" som finns på Tangled Yoke Cardigan. Jättelätt och snabb att sticka!

Then I fininshed the scarf and this is another free pattern from Garnstudio. I just have to block it and weave in the two ends.

I really hope that she'll like it, although I perhaps have spoiled the surprice by blogging about it. But frankly, I doubt that she's hanging around theese kind of blogs. She doesn't has neither the time nor the interest... I think.

Sen blev jag klar med halsduken och den är också ett gratismönster från Garnstudio. Ska bara blocka den och fästa garnändarna.

Jag hoppas verkligen att hon gillar den, fastän jag kanske har förstört överraskningen genom att blogga om den. Men ärligt talat så tvivlar jag på att hon sniffar runt på den här typen av bloggar. Hon har varken tiden eller intresset.... tror jag.
